Learn more. Her brief but impressive debut promised big things ahead for the iconic character. With Wonder Woman delayed — again — it's a good time to go back and enjoy the great moments from her first movie.
Movie audiences got an electric introduction to Wonder Woman in her live-action movie debut. Her first scene leaves an indelible impression.
She appears in a stunning red dress which foreshadows the color of her Amazonian costume. This photo would spoil the secret of her true identity and long life. It puts Diana on a collision course with another major player, Bruce Wayne. Diana has her first brief encounter with Bruce Wayne at the party, but more importantly, she observes him planting a high-tech tracking device into Luthor's computer system.
She definitely sends a message that this is a different kind of Wonder Woman when she steals the device, and then later tries to steal back the old photo of her. In most of her comic book appearances and in the amazing '70s television show starring Linda Carter, Diana Prince tends to be pretty squeaky clean.
Wonder Woman fails to get the black and white photo of her back. It turns out one of her many talents isn't defeating military-grade encryption. She also continues to get the attention of Bruce Wayne, which gives her another standout moment in the movie. Batman calls out Diana on her theft of his tracking device, but she throws it back in his face.
She merely borrowed the device, and besides, she had already returned it to him by leaving it in his luxury car. This Wonder Woman is sly and crafty. When her secret identity seems to be exposed, she prepares to flee, boarding a passenger plane out of Gotham back to Europe.
Diana evidently carries her sword and shield in her carry on bag because she absolutely did not check them. It's one of those things movie fans ponder endlessly.
While not necessarily a plot hole, it is a testament to how awesome she is and impervious to airport security. One of the moments Wonder Woman stole the show — maybe the moment — was her proper introduction as Wonder Woman. With Batman and Superman duking it out in Gotham until they bond over their moms, Diana gets back from the airport just in time to face off against Doomsday.
This leads to one of their funnier bits in the movie when Batman mistakes Wonder Woman for being with Superman.Fearing that the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs.
The general public is concerned over having Superman on their planet and letting the "Dark Knight" - Batman - pursue the streets of Gotham. While this is happening, a power-phobic Batman tries to attack Superman. Meanwhile, Superman tries to settle on a decision, and Lex Luthor, the criminal mastermind and millionaire, tries to use his own advantages to fight the "Man of Steel".
Society believes there should be no Superman because of his alien-like powers. Batman agrees and proceeds to take Superman down. Conversely, Superman fears that Batman's actions are reckless and tries to stop him. Meanwhile Lex Luthor, owner of Lex Corp, is plotting something that will destroy mankind! Will one of the heroes fall or will Lex Luthor take over Metropolis?
In the wake of the destruction of Metropolis, the people try to determine whether Superman should be praised as a hero or if he should turn himself over to the authorities. Batman on the other hand sees Superman as a danger to everyone and prepares to take on the Man of Steel himself.
Will one triumph over the other? Or will the world face certain doom? The world changed when mankind, the citizens of Metropolis and billionaire Bruce Wayne were witness to the awesome power of the Superman.
As journalist Lois Lane attempts to clear his name, Senate Hearings and the media compel Superman to work within the system, the Batman escalates his war on crime seeking a means to end the potential threat of Superman and Lex Luthor appears to be pulling strings behind the scenes. Donning his cape and cowl in response to witnessing the battle of Metropolis, Bruce Wayne must become Batman and defeat Superman and try saving the world from the Kyrptonian's destructive capabilities.
Batman Ben Affleck and Superman Henry Cavill clash over differing philosophies about what kind of heroism is needed to protect the world, while the public they're defending is becoming increasingly mindful of the damage that superheroes and masked vigilantes cause. However, the duo are soon forced to confront an even greater threat created by nefarious billionaire Lex Luthor Jesse Eisenberg. Sign In.

Clear your history.Season 2, Episode 5, of The Boys saw the increasingly unstable Homelander in hot water after being accused of committing a war crime. Furthermore, Superman's response to the event embodies the very type of honorable hero he claims to be.
Meanwhile, Homelander's response is far from honorable. When confronted with the video, Homelander is indifferent and annoyed with the backlash, reacting more emotionally to a slip in his public standing than to his role in killing an innocent man.
Instead of following Ashley and Vought's advice to stay low and eventually apologize, he attends a protest against him in an attempt to regain his popularity and justify his actions.

Instead of winning back the public, the protestors reject his justification and explanation, growing more tense as Homelander tries to defend himself. In reality, he backs down and flies away from the scene without accepting responsibility. Instead of realizing he's in the wrong, Homelander turns to Stormfront to help twist the narrative through viral memes, painting him out as a patriotic hero.
This response shows the vast difference between the hero Superman is and the one Homelander claims to be. He cares about Earth's citizens and wants them to put their trust in his hands as long as he can truly protect them.
Homelander only cares about how the public perceives him for the sake of his fragile ego, wanting to maintain power over them. This is demonstrated in the motives behind both of their respective attempts to make peace with the public. Superman goes to the congressional hearing fully prepared to atone for his actions and be transparent about his role as Earth's savior, largely ignoring the protesting public in favor of following a more official route of penance.
The gesture is pragmatic, rather than empathetic. In the end, both heroes are redeemed, though in vastly different ways.

Homelander's perceived patriotism scores him focus group points. Homelander pretends to stand for the values that Superman actually upholds, clearly demonstrating that heroic actions speak louder than heroic words. The mocking begins in episode 1, "The Big Ride," when The Boys meet up with Raynor underneath a billboard that features a Vought advertisement for their new movie, "Dawn of the Seven.
The entire sequence is told through elaborate comic book panel storyboards, and this is a direct reference to Zack Snyder's style of filmmaking.
The Boys ' acerbic wit might be edgy and take no prisoners, but it also doesn't discriminate, and both Marvel and DC can expect to get the parody treatment in future episodes.
However, it is worth pointing out that the "Dawn of The Seven" parody never feels mean-spirited or overly-critical. Craig first began contributing to Screen Rant inseveral years after graduating college, and has been ranting ever since, mostly to himself in a darkened room. Having previously written for various sports and music outlets, Craig's interest soon turned to TV and film, where a steady upbringing of science fiction and comic books finally came into its own.
Craig has previously been published on sites such as Den of Geek, and after many coffee-drenched hours hunched over a laptop, part-time evening work eventually turned into a full-time career covering everything from the zombie apocalypse to the Starship Enterprise via the TARDIS.
Since joining the Screen Rant fold, Craig has been involved in breaking news stories and mildly controversial ranking lists, but now works predominantly as a features writer. Matthew Rozsa. A movie that beats you into submission and makes you wonder if the sun will ever come out again. Will Leitch. Overblown and over-long as it is, the film sets up the series to come with a sure sense of its aficionados' wants and needs.
It's the perfect launch pad. Sandra Hall. Batman v Superman is a tiresome, ill-tempered film, and one too lazy even to earn its dismal outlook. Christopher Orr. When in doubt, [Snyder] simply slings another ingredient into the mix, be it an irradiated monster, an explosion on government premises, or the sharp smack of masonry on skull.
Anthony Lane.Batman and Superman 's rivalry goes back almost as long as the two characters have existed in the same universe. While the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel respect each other and work towards the same heroic goals, their worldviews are drastically different, and their comics are packed with times the two have come to blows.
But one disagreement fans may not know about is the time Batman beat Superman with a paper airplane But happily for these DC heavyweights, Batman's victory actually took place during a friendly competition.
Both teams are shown to have won previous duels, and it's revealed that the two superheroes wager trophies of their adventures on each round. For this competition, Robin delivers a miniature crime clue computer, infra-red Bat-Specs, and a muscle amplifier which increases strength a thousandfold, while Jimmy shows off an anti-grav cloak, an intelligence-expanding helmet, and a combat robot; all souvenirs from Superman's interstellar adventures.
It's in the first contest that Batman beats Supermanas he's locked in a room which will slowly fill with a debilitating gas.
Banned from using his existing gadgets, Batman retrieves paper and matches from his utility belt. He constructs a paper airplane then sets it on fire, using it to ignite the gas at its source and render the room safe. Superman wins the next challenge, in which Batman has provided three devices which make loud sounds. Banned from using his powers, Superman is tasked with deciding which object will be loudest and activating it within an hour. Thankfully, Superman is carrying Jimmy's signal watch, and its radiation sensor informs him that one of the devices contains a hidden atom bomb, making it easily the loudest device to activate.
Unfortunately, this Duel of Wits never reaches a definitive conclusion. Two groups, each made up of criminals the crime-fighters have put away, have sabotaged the remaining prizes, and each begins to interfere with the challenges in the hopes of sending their own targets home with a deadly trophy. Ultimately, in playing around with the potential prizes, it's Robin and Jimmy Olsen who discover the booby traps and allow their respective partners to find and neutralize their hidden foes.
It's a fun, light story, but also one which explores a world in which Batman and Superman are equally capable crime-fighters who clearly respect each other's abilities.
