I've gone back and forth with Acer tech support and after a conversation over the phone they said the problem could be that Windows does not have the touch enabled. I thought I had it anabled. Is there something else I need enabled? I believe this is from the USB port which is used for touch on the monitor. In Windows 7 you do not have to enable any of the settings for the touch screen. If all the drivers and applications are installed from the monitor manufacturer, it should work.
However, I would suggest you to make a note of the error code for the unknown device TH and post it back. To do this open device manager and right click on the Unknown device and click on properties. Make a note of the error code. Later uninstall the unknown drivers from the device manager. While uninstalling the device, make sure you place a check mark against "Delete the driver software for this device".
Once you uninstall the device make sure you have the entire driver for your touch screen and try to reinstall the drivers.
